The project shown here is a body blank which was designed for attaching the engine to the frame of car. Manufacturing required the use of several processes. The body was formed on our five die, six station multi blow progressive cold header. This part has internal threads, and an outside diameter is .621” with a length of 1.421”.
This part is composed of C1015 Steel. All components were within tolerances of +.0000″/-.0008″, and a straightness requirement of .0003″. Other tolerances met were circularity of .0003″, and circular runout of .007″. All tolerances were maintained through rigorous dimensional testing. This component is produced in volumes of 2,000,000 pieces per year for our customer in the USA. For more information on this project, see the table below or contact us directly.
